Nielsen-Massey Foundation

Nielsen-Massey Vanillas has been crafting the world’s finest vanillas and flavors since 1907. Founded by Richard Massey, who later partnered with Chatfield Nielsen, Sr, the company is still a family-owned operation run by the third generation of Nielsens: Craig Nielsen, Matt Nielsen and Beth Nielsen. Having grown up with the company and amidst the rich aroma of vanilla, they’ve spent their entire lives learning, studying and researching the best methods to produce pure flavors and achieve the best results in recipes and applications.
Having branched out from our humble origins in Sterling, Illinois, the company now possesses state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities at its headquarters in Waukegan, Illinois, USA and its plant in Leeuwarden, Netherlands. Nielsen-Massey products include: Vanilla Beans and Extracts from Madagascar, Tahiti and Mexico; sugar and alcohol-free Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Powder; Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Bean Paste; Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Sugar, Alcohol Free Madagascar Pure Vanilla, Organic Fairtrade Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Extract and Organic Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Beans.

Nielsen-Massey also offers a full line of Pure Flavors: Pure Chocolate Extract, Pure Almond Extract, Pure Orange Extract, Pure Lemon Extract, Pure Coffee Extract, Pure Peppermint Extract, Orange Blossom Water, Rose Water. A newly launched line of organic flavors includes: Organic Pure Almond Extract, Organic Pure Lemon Extract, Organic Pure Orange Extract and Organic Pure Peppermint Extract. The mission of the Nielsen-Massey Foundation is to assist disadvantaged children and adults with education and leadership development, especially in the field of culinary arts. Founded in 2009, the foundation’s board of directors consists of siblings Craig, Beth and Matt Nielsen and their mother Camilla Nielsen. The foundation’s goal is to continue the company’s long-standing charitable tradition, and to help achieve that objective, Nielsen-Massey Vanillas donates ten percent of its profits to The Nielsen-Massey Foundation.
