Rudy Speckamp Memorial Scholarship

Greystone or Hyde Park students in any program who meet the following criteria may apply:

• Are in the 2nd semester of Freshman year or in Sophomore year,
• Maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher,
• Filed the FAFSA to demonstrate financial need.

A former US Marine, Chef Speckamp owned a restaurant in the Baltimore area for 23 years and was a valued member of the CIA family for more a decade. He taught culinary arts courses in Hyde Park and at Greystone and also served as a member of the consulting team. Among his many accolades, Chef Speckamp was a Certified Master Chef (CMC) and Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE). He was part of the American team of chefs who medaled in the 1988 Culinary Olympics in Frankfurt. His credentials were worthy of celebrity-chef status, but his gentle spirit and even temper earned him great respect among his colleagues and with the countless CIA students whose lives he so richly touched.
